As the Cyber Detection & Response Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining HBF's cyber detection and response function, ensuring the protection of our digital assets from malicious activities. Reporting to the Detection and Response Lead, you'll leverage a variety of technologies and processes to identify, assess, monitor, and respond to security threats, risks, and improvements.Working within the Detection and Response team, you'll provide key stakeholders with expert advice and recommendations on cyber security issues. Your contributions will support multiple teams within the business as well as external partners in enhancing our cyber security posture.About the roleSupport the development, review, and maintenance of cyber security registers, standards, procedures, and related documentation.Identify opportunities and develop automation solutions across detection and response tooling.Monitor and develop all applicable security incident prevention, detection, and response technology stacks, e.g., SIEM, DLP, and EDR.Operate and maintain Cyber Security monitoring technologies.Conduct research, analysis, and correlation of cyber security intel across a wide variety of data sets.Monitor external data sources to maintain currency of cyber defence threat conditions.Conduct threat hunt activities, including a focus on key business services and crown jewel analysis.Provide advice to HBF staff on issues relating to cyber detection and response.Assist in the deployment of Cyber Security countermeasures during incident response lifecycle.Work collaboratively with team members to manage complex operational security events and issues.About youDemonstrated experience of at least 3 years in a similar Cyber Security role.Tertiary education in Technology, Cyber Security, or related fields.Experience in SIEM; ability to plan and deploy detection and performance improvements, automation, search queries.Experience in network security/threat hunting/penetration testing, or incident response.Knowledge of risk management processes and Cyber Security Kill Chain(s).Coding and/or scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell).Experience in a large organisation (preferably financial services or insurance).Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to meet deadlines, coordinate several tasks simultaneously, and prioritise workload.Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, including a high level of motivation and proactive work ethic.Next StepsIf you are looking for an exciting opportunity and are passionate about leveraging your cyber security skills to protect digital assets, we'd love to hear from you.To apply, click on the "Apply Now" button and submit your resume outlining your relevant experience.
