About the job The Customer Technical Services Officer is a key role responsible for providing technical advice and investigating water and sewer infrastructure issues within the metropolitan and outer metro areas.
This position focuses on ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and delivering high-quality services to internal and external customers.
The officer will work on a wide range of technical tasks, including connection approvals and designs, customer complaints, billing inquiries, metering issues, recycled water audits, and backflow prevention.
This opportunity will be based at Hope Valley or Happy Valley.
About Customer, Community and Engagement The Customer, Community and Engagement group drives customer outcomes by delivering exceptional experiences and tailored solutions that grow business, revenue, and the state economy, while actively engaging with communities, and collecting valuable feedback.
In addition, your responsibilities will include: Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will: Undertake investigations and provide technical advice on water and sewer infrastructure, including standard connection approval, meter testing, billing inquiries, and recycled water audits.
Ensure all work adheres to the Water Industry Act, Regulations, and corporate policies.
You will be responsible for enforcement of water conservation measures and assisting investigations related to offences.
Respond to and investigate customer complaints, including billing issues, high/low water use, and ministerial inquiries, ensuring a high level of service and clear communication.
Conduct investigations and audits to prevent backflow risks and ensure safe connections in line with industry standards.
