About the Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Customer Support Manager (also known as Dispatch Manager) . The role is responsible for the effective management of the Warehouse function for outbound goods. The Dispatch Manager will ensure workplace health and safety requirements, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) are maintained and that the agreed targets for customer service are achieved. This role will lead our pickers and transport solution including company own fleet to ensure that delivery to the customer is timely, with any delays communicated, cost effective and within the parameters of agreements.
In this Role Oversee the handling, dispatch and distribution for all outbound orders from the warehouse/s within the agreed service levels Establish or adjust staffing levels and assign workload to optimize the efficiency of the outbound operations Identify and recommend areas of improvement, establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices to optimize efficiency of the warehouse, customer service and personnel Implement changes as identified and authorized by the management team to drive continuous improvement. Lead team providing coaching and feedback to improve performance You're Likely a Match If Prior experience with union EA negotiations Experience in management of Company Feel, 3PL and/or 4PL transport providers Knowledge of warehousing operations and the functions involved; Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); FMCG, retail or warehousing knowledge Understanding of Metcash safety policies; chain of responsibility for safety related incidents; OHS/WC/COR and HACCP safety compliance and injury management People management experience; experience conducting performance reviews; coaching and mentoring staff Life at Metcash Experience a supportive and flexible work environment.
