Are you passionate about reducing waste to landfill?Support better environmental and economic outcomes for our community.Permanent full-time role – 38 hours per week.City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking a Customer Service Resource and Recovery Operator to provide high-level customer service standards and cleanliness to our community members whilst maximizing the recovery of target resources and reducing waste to landfill at our Resource Recovery Centre at our Summerhill Waste Management Centre.
As the Customer Service and Resource Recovery Operator, you will be seen as the 'champion' of recovery, recycling, and improving our environment and one of the main interaction points for our customers, providing education on ways to reduce waste to landfill and promoting sustainable practices whilst assisting in giving directions to how our visitors can safely reach the appropriate disposal and recycling locations.
With a keen eye for detail and your machine operating experience, you will be able to identify and extract recoverable materials from the waste stream to avoid landfill and sort these nominated materials into their designated locations resulting in reduction of cost to CN, our customers, and the environment.
