Job Description: Mars Petcare is seeking a driven, dynamic and strategic Customer Development Manager to join their team.
As the Customer Development Manager, you will be accountable for delivering business segment objectives and to share customer volume by delivering sales strategic objectives at the lowest possible cost.As the Customer Development Manager, you will support the Mars Petcare Strategy in Action and the Strategic Channel prioritization that has been established within the Sales Organisation.
Reporting to the Customer Development Leader - Indies & Wholesalers, this is a multi-faceted role.
Your scope for this role includes key support to the team from an operation and reporting perspective.
What are we looking for?Previous sales Account Management experience or extensive field sales background essentialDegree qualification in commerce or business discipline (preferred but not essential)Proven ability to build strong customer relationshipsEntry level understanding of financial principles behind effective trade spend managementPlay a critical role in delivering growth opportunities and improvementsProven ability to implement category strategies both with customers and a field levelWhat will be your key responsibilities?Manage promotional submission formsPerformance reporting including routinely evaluating performance and investment using various data platforms to deliver optimized solutions for Mars and our customersContribute to and in some instances manage claims and accrual managementContribute to and in some instances be responsible for account management of Independent/Wholesaler Accounts including all areas of relationship management, pricing & promotion within guardrails, execution, category management, activation, and NPD/distributionWhere applicable, monitor and evaluate customer activation initiatives across the category to understand the effectivenessWhere applicable, contribute to the total financial performance of the SPT channel by delivering against agreed totals for managed accounts: GSV, TI and NSV targets, consistent with customer external RSV, GP and growth expectationsContribute to the Mars S&OP process through adherence to demand planning responsibilities such as promotional forecasting and Step 2 Feeder inputs, with all activities delivered in line with supply lead times and external customer expectationsAssist with range review process internally and externally, in line with customer review timings and Mars Petcare deployment processes, through collaboration with internal stakeholders to grow Mars Petcare share, range and space.Routinely deliver fit for purpose executional plans to Mars Petcare field team to facilitate best in class customer experiences and translation of customer strategies at store level.What can you expect from Mars?Genuine career progression with a focus on you and your career goals.
