Custodian - NE_Administration-101
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Part-Time Custodian for the Greenville Corps, located in Greenville, NC.
Job Summary
Cleans the Corps building to ensure neatness and cleanliness daily. Assists in monitoring light fixtures, ensuring light bulbs are in working order, and replaces light bulbs as needed. Helps in keeping grounds clean and free of trash, and has the ability to use a ride mower, push mower, and edger. Assists in setting up meeting rooms with tables and chairs and cleans meeting areas after meetings are finished. Must be able to clean and use appropriate chemicals with care to achieve a sanitized, well-kept building and grounds. Able to follow instructions and work well with others. Must be able to drive The Salvation Army vehicles as needed for food pick-up or other errands. Performs other related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds; ability to follow instructions and work independently; ability to read and communicate in the English language. Bilingual is a plus but not necessary.
Education and Experience:
No formal education or experience required; six (6) months experience performing general housekeeping duties; any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid State Driver's License.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements; ability to exert the physical energy required for housekeeping and minor maintenance work; ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing; ability to lift 35 to 75 pounds. Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.
