About The BUSY Schools...
The BUSY Schools are part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 45 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, NDIS, disability employment support, and allied health services.
The BUSY Schools are independent Special Assistance Schools with 7 campuses across Cairns, Brisbane, and Gold Coast/Coolangatta, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.
Our teams' focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student's graduation from Year 12.
Job Description
About the position...
Based at our School Campus in Cleveland, you will be re-engaging students and teaching within the areas of Year 11 or 12. This is a job split between teaching and being our campus curriculum coordinator. It also involves working closely with teacher aides and utilising their abilities in the classroom to help the students. We aim to achieve academic success while preparing our students for their future, with a heavy emphasis on vocational pathways as a roadmap to achievement. This role would be perfect for someone who has experience working in Senior Schooling alongside the QCAA.
This role is a permanent full-time position.

Desired Skills and Experience
About you...
Curriculum planning, development, implementation and evaluation experience.
A relevant teaching qualification.
Hold full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland.
Ability to work within the curriculum of secondary education.
