Provide expert advice and guidance to business areas on course structure design and curriculum configurationPerform system operations and configuration activities to ensure accurate and compliant curriculum dataFull time, On-going role based in Launceston, Hobart or BurnieAbout the opportunity The Curriculum Analyst will work within the Business Analysis team and is responsible for the Course Structure and Curriculum Planning portfolio. Working closely with business areas and functions across the institution, the Curriculum Analyst will develop an expert knowledge of business processes and supporting student systems that are relevant to the design and management of curriculum at the University. The analyst will also investigate and resolve issues, identify and workshop opportunities for improvement, prototype and test changes to configuration and monitor developments in future software releases relevant to their portfolio.
As this position involves University-wide engagement and interaction, some travel between Hobart, Launceston and Burnie campuses may be required. Occasional interstate travel may also be necessary.
What you'll do: Perform restricted or advanced system operations, including specialised configuration activities, bulk processing tasks and restricted authorisation activities.Provide expert advice and guidance to business areas on course structure design and curriculum configuration, to ensure consistent and effective study plan design from a student and staff perspective.Develop and maintain documentation relevant to the portfolio including business process designs, report specifications, development requirements, test cases, and training documentation.Identify and deliver improvements that will leverage current or future functionality available in student systems, including researching, prototyping, testing, and training.Develop and maintain professional collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellent outcomes for students and the University.Facilitate activities with small and large groups of stakeholders to identify opportunities, refine business processes, and negotiate resolution of issues.Lead special projects and initiatives that deliver innovative solutions and contribute to institutional and divisional strategic goals, including timely and accurate reporting on the status of issues and risks.What we're looking for: A degree from a recognised higher education institution with experience as a Business Analyst, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through a combination of experience and/or education/training.Demonstrated ability to organise, plan and undertake business analysis activities and investigations together with the ability to develop solutions to problems.Experience in researching, prototyping and testing changes to system functionality, including modification of system configuration options to better support business processes, specification of reports or software changes, and creation of test cases and test plans.Demonstrated high level written communication skills.Good level of skills in liaising and negotiating efficiently with stakeholders and staff members across business areas.Broad knowledge of academic administrative business processes within a university environment, particularly those associated with the design and maintenance of the curriculum, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $123,548 comprising base salary within the range of $96,071 to $105,597 plus 17% superannuation.
