About the role This position is situated within the MacKillop Seasons team, managed by Mackillop Clinical Services unit, and is responsible for change and loss education programs.
The Cultural Trainer will train Companions in the Seasons for Healing program and where appropriate Seasons of Growth programs.
The role of Cultural Trainer is to facilitate and deliver training workshops and professional learning sessions for the Seasons of Healing program and where appropriate the Seasons of Growth suite of programs through Face-to-Face delivery in community and when required online.
The Cultural Trainer reports to the Lead – National Partnerships, MacKillop Seasons. Cultural Trainer will be supported culturally by MacKillop's Cultural Specialist and Cultural Engagement Officer.
Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have:
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and values and an awareness of the current challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities affecting challenges to navigate loss, change and grief.Share Indigenous knowledges on change, loss and grief to in-depth the Seasons of Healing program experience, providing participants with a culturally sensitive and informed learning experience.The ability to operate under limited direction and as a member of a Cultural Trainers team or independently.Ability to facilitate learning through effective small group processes in face to face and online environments and the ability to differentiate between an educational process and a therapeutic process.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
