$94,160 p/a +superannuation + salary sacrifice Full-time -Fixed-term position About therole: We arecurrently seeking a Cultural Practice Lead to join our Foster andKinship team. Our Cultural and Practice lead can be based inRockhampton, Gladstone or Emerald.

Theywill provide high-level consultation and leadership to theFoster and Kinship Care team. The Cultural Practice Lead will aimto strengthen culturally responsive and effective practices forAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children in care.
Whatwill a typical day look like?
Engage with youngpeople to support their cultural needs with the support of thePlacement Support Worker and Carer. Ensure all currentcultural case plans are up to date and being utilised by theteam. Engage with FosterCarers to support, monitor and develop culturally appropriatestrategies and interventions to support the cultural needs ofeach young person. Provide culturalawareness training to develop relevant resources and trainingmaterials to enhance cultural competency. Provide advice,mentoring and coaching to staff to support safe, qualitypractice. Provide strategicleadership to ensure inclusion is embedded in policies,procedures, and practice frameworks in the Foster CarePortfolio. Lead thedevelopment and implementation of cultural practice to improveservices to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander youngpeople in care. Ensure practicesare compliant with Standards of Care and the rights of childrenaccording to the Child Protection Act 1999. Promote and supportan ongoing strong and positive team environment to ensureexcellent communication and collaboration between team membersand colleagues within the Foster Care portfolio. Engage the team inthe development and implementation of activities and events forchildren and carers. MandatoryRequirements: Tertiaryqualification in Social Services or a relatedfield.
