Find a career that matters and lasts As the Cultural Heritage Team Leader, you'll lead a team responsible for managing cultural heritage functions across Powerlink's operations in accordance with organisational policies and legislative requirements. This role involves leading the development and implementation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans and Agreements, and ensuring cultural heritage considerations are integrated throughout all phases of network development, construction and maintenance activities. You will also:
Lead a team of professionals dedicated to cultural heritage functions, providing coaching, mentoring, and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders.
Assess all Powerlink projects for cultural heritage risks and ensure compliance with policies and legislative requirements.
Foster respectful and cooperative relationships with Traditional Owners and their representatives, supporting Powerlink's Cultural Heritage Framework.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely integration of cultural heritage management requirements within project scopes and budgets.
Utilize negotiation skills to address critical cultural heritage issues with stakeholders.
Facilitate understanding of cultural heritage values and requirements through effective communication and engagement strategies.
Develop standards, procedures, and guidelines to support cultural heritage management across Powerlink.

Together, we work towards a shared vision of creating a brighter, more connected future for Queensland, guided by principles of reconciliation and sustainability.
Your expertise Degree or equivalent qualification in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management, or related discipline.
Considerable experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Owners and their representative bodies.
Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships, liaise, negotiate and effectively address and resolve risks and issues with Traditional Owners, their advisors and representatives on behalf of an organisation.
Ability to develop and implement cultural heritage, communication and/or stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
Demonstrated strong ability to understand cultural heritage issues and legislation relevant to development and operation linear infrastructure (e.g. route investigation, selection and acquisition, construction, or maintenance processes) in order to resolve concerns raised by Traditional Owners and/or other relevant stakeholders.
