The Cultural Engagement Officer is an identified position for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidate. This is an exception under NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 Section 14(d) for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only.
About the role The Cultural Engagement Officer is situated within the MacKillop Seasons team in the MacKillop Clinical Services Division. The MacKillop Seasons team provides evidence-based change, loss and grief programs to support children, young people, and adults in schools and communities.
The Cultural Engagement Officer will provide specialist support to engage, develop, and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander companions, stakeholders, and communities for the promotion, update, and delivery of the Seasons suite of programs. The Cultural Engagement Officer will also support MacKillop Seasons RAP actions including implementation, ongoing tracking, and monitoring of deliverables.
The Cultural Engagement Officer is a member of the broader Seasons team and provides support to promote, engage, and plan for Seasons Programs internally and externally, reporting to the Lead – National and International Partnerships, MacKillop Seasons.
This is a Permanent, Part-time (22.8 hours per week – 0.6 EFT) opportunity based in our Frenchs Forest office in Sydney within our MacKillop Seasons Team. Key Selection Criteria: Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and values and an awareness of the current challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities affecting challenges to navigate loss, change, and grief.Formal qualifications and/or work experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community development, health, community services, or project management fields.Experience in coordinating effective community and stakeholder engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and values and an awareness of the current and historical grief and trauma faced by First Nations communities.Demonstrated capacity to develop and manage stakeholder relationships across professional and organisational boundaries.Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, targets, and key deliverables of the program.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
