Job Summary: This position will be responsible for supporting global trade strategy by working closely with teams from Programs, Engineering, Contracts, Business Development, and Proposal functions ensuring Cubic's international compliance and growth objectives are met while ensuring compliance with multiple country's international trade regulations. This role will support multiple Cubic businesses and corporate functions in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States to implement and support strategic compliance objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides strategic and regulatory guidance to support mission-centric goals through program support globally. Analyze Programs, Contracts, Agreements, and requirements and develop authorization strategies that support business. Increases the visibility of Global Trade Management within Cubic through routine communication and training with internal stakeholders. Conduct classification determinations that comport to regulatory requirements for determining authorization requirements. Conduct due diligence and screening pursuant to current embargoes, sanctions, and treaties across all aspects of business. Prepare and implement authorizations and permits in support of defense and commercial businesses across Cubic businesses and strategic goals. Establish and maintain recordkeeping requirements that support multiple control regimes. Performs due diligence on global strategy initiatives to analyze potential risk. Liaises with functional groups and international entities to coordinate key objectives and action items in support of Global Trade Management. Collaborate in the development and implementation of export/import policies and procedures and self-assessments. Monitor changes to international regulations and guidelines to mitigate impact of such changes on export/import compliance activities and business plans. Supports internal audits and investigations of export/import issues involving Cubic programs and processes. Assists management Cubic Global Trade Compliance to ensure compliance with all international import and export regulations such as DTCR, MFAT, ITAR and EAR, Multiple Customs regulations, and Cubic policies, relating to import/export of products and services, transfers of technical data, technology and employment of foreign persons. Develop and supervise part-time employee in the support of Cubic's Global Trade Compliance procedures. Minimum Job Requirements (education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities):
Degree qualified or equivalent in a technical, legal or business-related discipline.
Generally, requires at least 5 or more years of experience in export/import compliance management field with a focus on multinational regulatory requirements.
General understanding of the International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) and Export Administration (EAR) regulations.
Ability to plan, prioritize, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines supporting defense and commercial product lines.
Ability to apply critical thinking and perform analytical work to complex transactions.
Good interpersonal skills. Ability to develop consensus on plans through dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
May be required to travel domestically and internationally.
