Join the Sterilisation Services team at Melbourne Private Hospital as a CSSD Manager!
We're looking for an experienced professional to bring their skills to our team on a full-time basis.
You will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Services Manager to run the day-to-day operational direction of the department.
You will coordinate the daily delivery of exceptional service that is evidence-based and of a high standard consistent with AS/NZS 4187-2014, infection control guidelines, and the Healthscope Policies.
Melbourne Private Hospital has provided a range of acute medical and surgical healthcare services to our community for over 20 years.
We are a 122-bed private hospital co-located with the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the heart of Parkville, 1.7 km from Melbourne CBD.
Our hospital offers highly specialised services including neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, and general surgery.
These services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit, and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit.
As a CSSD Manager, your responsibilities will include: Overseeing a high standard of evidence-based Sterilization services to the operating theatre and other clinical departments within the hospital.Adhering to Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards and planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the cleaning, sterilization, and packing of hospital instruments.Providing clinical leadership - offering direction, support, supervision, teaching, and specific clinical specialty direction for CSSD Technicians.Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the AS 5369 2023 and how these regulations impact the sterilisation process and procedures.Minimum Requirements: Authority to Work in Australia.Working with Children check (if relevant).Clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care.Self-motivated team player.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proactive, customer-focused approach.Certificate IV in Sterilisation/Training and Assessment (preferred).Extensive experience in Theatre.Current or recent experience as Senior Instrument Technician in a management role.Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR.Consultative leadership style and sound negotiation skills are vital.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.An interest in promoting best practice patient care and strong sense of customer service.A focus on professional development.Healthscope, where career means more! If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current allied health professionals Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria – Allied Health Professionals Agreement 2021 - 2025" (salaries range between $40.82 and $42.18 per hour + superannuation). Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable), and Evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment.
Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
