THE ROLE – CROSS COUNTRY COACHES 2025 St Margaret's has a long history of success within cross country.
Strong interest and participation in this sport has resulted in St Margaret's becoming one of the most successful schools within the QGSSSA competition, Andrews Cup competition and in state and national competitions.
The cross country season runs from January to May each year.
The cross country program is led by our Head of Athletics and Development and supported by the Head Coach and Coaches.
Each coach leads up to three training sessions per week with the QGSSSA Cross Country and Andrews Cup Competitions taking place in May.
There are also several lead-up competition meets on various dates.
We are currently seeking the following for the 2025 Cross Country season: Coaches - The role of coach is to deliver coaching sessions developed by the Head of Athletics and Development which encourage students in physical fitness and technique development.

ABOUT YOU You will be an experienced and qualified coach who has a proven ability to develop young cross-country participants and instil a passion for the sport.
Essential requirements: Athletics Australia – Level 1 Run Leader accreditation or higher would be highly regarded.
Previous coaching experience.
As the cross country coaches are required to run with the students, candidates must be fit and have the capacity to run alongside the students.
Previous coaching experience in cross country.
Experience in participating in cross country.
A working with children blue card or exemption card.
A current first aid and CPR certificate.
