Crisis Pathway Support Worker

The post holder will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing support to clients and their carers when individuals are in a mental health crisis to prevent admission to a mental health hospital or to facilitate early and safe discharge from the ward.
The service covers the whole of the London Borough of City and Hackney.
The post holder will be expected to visit service users in their homes or community locations.
The role will entail providing personal, practical, and social support to service users, their families, and carers using the principles of recovery.
Hours of work will be over 7 days a week per rota, 8:15 - 9pm, Monday - Sunday.
Main duties of the jobWe are seeking support workers who have excellent communication skills, time management skills, and can demonstrate empathy when conducting crisis care.
We are looking for a support worker who is enthusiastic about working in a dynamic service where weekly training and development are provided.
The service runs across 7 days a week therefore flexibility is essential and shift patterns are standard (day, long days/weekends).
In return, successful applications will be supported by way of supervision, reflective practice, training sessions, and professional and developmental support through the management structure.

Person SpecificationEducation/ Qualification/ TrainingMinimum 5 GCSEs A-C including English and MathsNVQ in care level 2/3 or equivalent level of training/qualificationExperienceClinical experience of working with adults with mental health problems in either a health or social care settingExperience of working in a community setting.Experience of working in a Home Treatment team and with individuals in crisis.Experience of working with families and carers.Experience of working in an inner city borough.Knowledge and SkillsFluent in both oral and written English.Ability to form appropriate and respectful working relationships with a diverse range of people.Ability to respond positively to people who are distressed or who behave in a challenging manner.Ability to relate and listen to people with mental health problems and provide emotional support and care.Ability to carry out a range of practical and manual tasks with regard to household maintenance, housing, benefit entitlement, etc.Ability to reflect on own working practice and its impact upon service users and other MDT staff.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£31,944 to £34,937 a year per annum Inc HCAs
