Company Overview: A leading law firm based in Townsville CBD is seeking a Criminal Lawyer to join their team. This firm is known for its dedication to providing exceptional legal representation and client care. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of summary and indictable matters, acting for private clients. Our client is open to employ either a Senior or Junior Lawyer.
Tasks & Responsibilities: Manage a caseload consisting of summary and indictable criminal matters.Act for private clients, providing expert legal advice and representation.Attend client conferences and obtain instructions.Prepare submissions and negotiate with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).Regularly appear in various courts for appeals, breaches, and bail applications.Prepare correspondence, including written advice and briefs to counsel.Collaborate with some of the best criminal barristers in the field.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.Pay great attention to detail in drafting legal documents.Benefits: Lucrative salary well above market rate.Sign-on bonus for successful candidates.Performance bonuses and incentives provided.Annual bonuses and additional paid time off.Reserved undercover parking spot for the CBD office.Newly fitted-out offices next to the courts.A diverse and friendly group of colleagues.Regular staff lunches and catchups.Wellbeing programs, including regular in-house massages for staff.Application Process: This position is open to candidates currently in Australia with unrestricted work rights, as this is a permanent, ongoing role.
