Workplace Location: The successful candidate will play an integral role in the following: Appear as regular duty lawyer for the Courtlink call-over of the Court Link Bail program.Represent clients, including preparing matters, instructing counsel and personally appearing for accused persons in all general criminal law matters, particularly in the Magistrates Court but also District Court sentences.Provide legal information and advice to clients and the public in relation to various areas of law.Help and guide team members and other Legal Aid Queensland staff with enquiries related to a specific area of law.Help initiate and maintain networks with relevant bodies in the criminal justice system and liaise with key criminal justice system stakeholders.You will have: Experience in the conduct of summary and indictable criminal law matters and related areas of law, including preparation, representation and advocacy experience.Knowledge of the practice and procedure of criminal law, evidence and ethics.
