Crime Prevention and Reduction AssistantMersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS TrustTo assist the Crime Prevention and Reduction Officer to ensure that the organisation complies with relevant Security Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice/Best Industry Practice Standards.To assist in the implementation of Trust security related policies/documentation, and work under direction to engage with staff, ensuring the highest standards of security and environmental management.Travel across Trust sites, undertaking investigations and supporting staff across MWL.Interview Date: 30th January 2025Main duties of the jobTo undertake investigations of crime against staff, inspections, risk assessments and action plans, working collaboratively alongside our departments across the Trust.Be aware of current and professional security advice, and how it can impact upon the Trust.To report findings from investigations, risk assessments/audits to relevant personnel, and take direction from management on reviewing and actioning issues to ensure continued effectiveness.Link between the Trust and Security teams where directed, as well as reporting back through governance structure.Assist with the ongoing programmes of support work for violence and abuse against staff, ensuring compliance with Joint Agreement on Offences Against Emergency Workers and other local policies and processes.Job responsibilitiesKEY DUTIESTo help in ensuring security management work is carried out with a professional and ethical framework previously developed and provided by NHS Protect.Co-ordinate specific security issues and liaise with management where relevant.Work with both clinical and non-clinical risk teams to develop systems to meet the internal and external security requirements.Work towards achieving a safe working environment by ensuring developed safe working practices are enacted by support staff, patients, and visitors.Support the Trust's Governance framework.Where directed, co-ordinate, conduct, review, advise and support crime audits, inspections, security/crime risk assessments throughout Trust, ensuring timely provision of reports.Participate in root cause analysis through investigations, providing written reports to management.Maintain accurate electronic records of investigations, outcomes and learning.Be proactive maintaining a high level of understanding in relation to current issues by means of networking and continuous professional development.Assist on the day-to-day work within the Trust to tackle violence against staff.To work to create a pro-security culture within the Trust, so that staff and patients accept responsibility for this issue.To ensure existing security equipment e.g.
