Crew Leader – Metal Products Maintenance Leadership position within a world class smelter Be part of a close-knit team with a strong commitment to safety Excellent career development opportunity within a global company About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs We are looking for a Crew Leader – Planned Maintenance who will play an important role in supporting their team in the day to day operations to ensure the focus is on safety, environment quality and the continual development of their team. This is a great opportunity for a person who can hit the ground running, with a strong capability in people management who can utilise their skills, experience and attributes to contribute to the overall success of the Metal Products department. Reporting to the Superintendent, key accountabilities of these roles include; Encouraging a proactive approach to safety and where necessary conducting accident / incident investigations, hazard studies and up-skilling your team in safety tools and their use; Responsible for detailed planning and communication of your team's work Leading various projects / activities and process improvements for the team; Leading a diverse team of maintenance personnel to achieve safety, environmental, and cost objectives; The provision of effective leadership in ensuring crew objectives / work schedules are maintained in line with production requirements; Identifying development and improvement opportunities Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the BSL safety culture What you'll bring To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team The ability to both lead and work within a team environment, adding value through highly effective relationship management Excellent communication skills via all mediums with the ability to negotiate positive outcomes across multiple work fronts A demonstrated ability to develop and execute detailed work schedules/plans A trade background is not essential but could be beneficial Sound level of numeracy, literacy and computing skills Proficiency in SAP would be beneficial but not essential What we offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress. Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia's second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
