As the Crew Arborist you will be responsible for: execution of tree and vegetation management, making a difference to our working environment within a place where you can learn and perform to your fullest potential.Performing tree and vegetation management and maintenance/project activities including tree climbing and aerial lift duties.Operating heavy plant and equipment.Understanding and undertaking defined quality control/assurance on activities performed.Taking care of own and colleagues Health and Safety through identification and reporting of hazards and active involvement in improvement initiatives.Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment.Support a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.A valid Driver's Licence (MR minimum) is required as this role requires occasional travel.You have the ability to work proactively as a member of the team, contribute fully to team decision-making and take responsibility for own role in ensuring the safety of all team members and other personnel on site.Demonstrated experience performing on-ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift (EWP), duties with relevant certificate of competency, (minimum Certificate III in Arboriculture).Other qualifications such as Industry White Card, First Aid, Chainsaw Ticket, etc.Problem solving skills, including the ability to deliver the appropriate outcomes.Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people both within Melbourne Water, external organisations and with the general public.Ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously.This full-time role is based at our South East Regional office in Bangholme with field-based works occurring on sites and assets throughout Melbourne Waters network.At Melbourne Water, we care about water and all life that springs from it.Our people are fuelled by passion, and with safety at the forefront, we have an unwavering sense of purpose, and are on a mission to protect every Melburnian's way of life, one drop at a time.We walk the talk when it comes to flexible working – but that's not all.
