Overview Credit Underwriters help us make decisions on the business' behalf around approving loan applications from our valued customers.
This means reviewing and assessing the required information that each customer has to provide for each loan.
While the role is guided through policy and procedures, it also relies on judgment, training, and experience making decisions.
This is a critical role at Brighte as you will be acting as the decision maker for all of our incoming customers.
About the role This role has a focus on evaluating the creditworthiness and financial background/stability of our customers - you will assist with assessing risks in lending and making informed decisions on loan applications, always ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
You'll bring your strong communication skills, your resilience, confidence, and 'outside the box' thinking to ensure we are balancing risk and opportunity to make strategic lending decisions.
About you - Previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous - any background in a credit environment in 'non-banking lending operations' would be a fantastic addition.
Any background with smaller loans with fast turnarounds is extremely beneficial.
- Your attention to detail is second to none and you are meticulous in double and triple checking your work.
- You have a customer-centric mentality and always go above and beyond for the customer.
- Communication comes naturally to you - whether that is verbal or written, you know how to articulate yourself well.
Benefits We're committed to building a culture where our people can thrive, both professionally and personally.
So, we offer a variety of benefits and perks to support you and your family.
- Flexible working arrangements to suit individual needs and a hybrid work model.
- Employee share options - every new staff member is given an opportunity to join our Employee Share Option Plans (ESOP).
- Exciting and regular social activities to keep you connected with your team and others in the business!
- Nutritious snacks – who doesn't love that?
Our thoughtfully stocked pantry includes snacks to suit your every mood.
From fresh bread, protein bars, chocolate, soy crisps – you name it!
We also offer a carefully curated collection of wines and beer on top for those looking to unwind or enjoy a social moment.
- End-of-trip facilities.
Cycle in to work, lock up your wheels and have a shower in our end-of-trip facilities, which come complete with towel service and hair dryers.
-----
Named LinkedIn's #10 Top Australian Start Up (2021), we know we wouldn't be anywhere without our investors, who believe in our mission and the opportunities that lie ahead for a brighter future.
