The Credit Controller coordinates the day-to-day management of the debtors ledger, ensuring speedy and effective recovery of amounts outstanding, prepares regular account reconciliations and allocation of payments.This role requires you to be effective at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and negotiating favourable business outcomes within a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.The role would suit someone with previous Credit Control experience in a large scale organisation. The successful candidate demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. In addition, you should have a continuous improvement mindset, identifying strategies for the ongoing enhancement of the function.As a Credit Controller, you will:Be responsible for debt management, including debt follow up, bad debt write offs, refer debts to debt collection, and calculate and prepare monthly reconciliation of provision for doubtful debts.Receipt and allocate funds received into the University bank accounts, and verify that financial transactions are entered correctly to ensure accurate general ledger records for financial reporting to Budget Centre's and external statutory bodiesDeliver effective and efficient daily cash allocation of monies received, from students and customers, in DeakinUniFi and ensure follow up and management of any unknown receipts or allocation variances.Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts that relate to Accounts ReceivableProvide positive customer service, including guidance and advice to ensure enquiries are addressed promptly and accurately in line with University policies and procedures and external regulationsTo be successful, you'll have:A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; orExtensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fieldsAn equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/trainingExperience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies, and procedures.Here's how to apply:Please submit your updated resume and a short cover letter outlining your skills and experience.For a confidential discussion regarding this role, please contact Jules McCulloch (Senior Revenue Officer, Accounts Receivable) on ****** a copy of the position description, please see below:Applications for this position close on Thursday the 9 th of May.Are You Ready?Deakin is a Victorian university with a global impact.
