Key Responsibilities: Providing sound decision-making skills in the credit assessment of commercial clients.Responsible for accurate and timely completion of credit assessments of a growing portfolio of commercial clients, including annual renewals, new applications, and interim assessments as required.Consistent credit decision-making to balance commercial imperatives with the business's risk appetite.Ensuring the application process meets credit underwriting policies and regulatory obligations.Implementing appropriate security structures to protect and assist in recovery in the event of loss.Evaluating data, evidence, and system recommendations, exercising credit approval authority.Ongoing development as an underwriter and becoming an experienced member of the team.Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, including training junior underwriters.Gathering all relevant underwriting information, financial reports, and market research to facilitate new business acceptance and the renewal of existing accounts.Developing and maintaining client / broker / partnership expectations and working relationships with all stakeholders, including participation in meetings, calls, and functions.General administration, customer service, daily workflow management, and updating the Commercial Bonds database with respect to all client facilities, security, requests, and maintenance.Successful Candidate: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a confident and friendly manner, be motivated to succeed, have excellent organisational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
Essential skills include: Minimum 2-4 years of experience in commercial finance or credit-related products, with at least 2 years in credit risk.Commercial lending experience preferred.A degree in Business, Accounting, or Commerce preferred.Strong numerical and financial analysis skills, including the ability to discuss financial reports and associated information with stakeholders.Sound business acumen and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to make commercial decisions within delegated authority and recommendations to credit decision-makers as required.Experience dealing with customers, brokers, and business partners while providing high-quality service.Strong communication and negotiation skills (both written and verbal).Previous experience holding a credit approval authority limit (preferred, but not essential).#J-18808-Ljbffr
