Role based in Newcastle CBD – option to WFH a few days per week upon completion of training period.
Purpose of the role Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent have recently come together to form NGM Group Ltd, a powerhouse in customer-owned banking.
We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity available in our Credit Operations team, supporting Newcastle Permanent brand/products. In this varied and engaging role based in Newcastle, you'll leverage your critical thinking capabilities to analyse and decision home loan applications that fall within our defined policy guidelines and your delegated approval limits and will also have the opportunity to provide expert recommendations for applications that require a specialized approach. What will your key responsibilities include? Analyse loan applications based on organisational policies and credit risk profile. Exercise a personal delegated lending authority and if appropriate an Outside Policy Delegation. Decision applications that are within delegated authority. Provide detailed analysis and recommendations to a higher approval authority for other applications. Decline applications that do not meet organisational acceptable risk profiles. Deliver effective services to internal customers and consequently enhance members experience in dealing with Newcastle Permanent/NGM. Take ownership of workload and effectively prioritise workflow to meet deadlines and required benchmark targets. Act as a referral source for staff within related departments in the management of home loan products. Implement and proactively support new processes and procedures. Ensure member complaints are actioned, resolved, or escalated to senior management within an acceptable time frame. Consult with loan originators (Mortgage Lending Network and Broker Network), to gain additional information and/or clarification to enable effective loan decisions/recommendations to be made. What are we looking for? Experience with home loan applications. Competent computer skills, in particular experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products. Exposure to an automated loans processing system (desirable). Sound problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, and decision-making skills.
