Description We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to lead our staging team as part of the Edinburgh International Festival.
About the Role The Head of Staging plays a crucial role in delivering this world-renowned celebration of performing arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating with visiting companies, negotiating directly with them both nationally and internationally.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to manage, delegate, and supervise a team effectively, and possess a deep understanding of their field. They will also be able to offer innovative solutions and ensure that the festival delivers at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities Lead the staging team to deliver high-quality performances Communicate effectively with visiting companies, negotiating terms and conditions Manage and delegate tasks to ensure efficient delivery Supervise a team, varying in size depending on the festival programme Maintain attention to detail throughout preparation and planning stages Working Arrangements This is a fixed-term contract from May 2025 to September 2025, working 35 hours per week, within standard office hours of 9:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday.
At peak times, additional hours may be required, including weekends and evenings, but these will not exceed Working Time Directive rules. All hours will be agreed with the Head of Production.
Requirements An estimated salary of £44,000 - £48,000 pro rata, depending on experience, will be offered to the successful candidate. Funding is provided by The City of Edinburgh Council and Creative Scotland, a registered charity number SC004694.
