Due to workshop expansion, WesTrac is seeking a high-precision Crankshaft Grinding Machinist to perform crankshaft grinding and cylindrical grinding and measuring tasks on large-scale engine and hydraulic components.
This role will join a wider on-shift team of 40+ First Class Machinists, Boilermakers, and Trades Assistants.
Our machine shop boasts a 2000~ sqr meter shed equipped with over 20 robotic generated machines used for both manual and CNC tasks.
Our workshop focuses on the complete overhaul and restoration to like new condition of all outgoing plant equipment and components.
Responsibilities Perform crankshaft grinding and cylindrical grinding tasks on large-scale engine and hydraulic components.
Work collaboratively within a team of skilled tradespeople.
Ensure adherence to modern safety procedures.
Skill & Experience Cert 3 Trade Qualification: Mechanical Engineering/Fitter & Machining or equivalent.
Post-trade manual machining experience is essential.
Proficient with modern safety procedures: Take 5's/ JSA'S/ SWIMS.
Sound working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is desirable.
