Job Summary: The Crane Operator I is responsible for the safe operation of overhead gantry crane and/or mobile crane in accordance with EHS procedures.
Crane Operator is responsible for operating a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads.
Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform operation of overhead gantry crane and/or mobile crane lifts supporting rigging and lifting work activities Assist with mechanical works whenever there are no crane operating work requirements Perform crane operations in partnership with the designated banksman/rigger. Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities Perform visual pre and post use crane inspections Record any crane faults or failures and report to line supervision Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy Ensure all in-field lifting activities are carried out safely complying with company Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures. Position overhead crane equipment, secure the hooks to the straps and moves the load by operating a control mechanism ensuring the safety of passers-by at the location and the integrity of the transported material. Takes care of the order and cleaning of the place, equipment, and work tools, requesting maintenance services when necessary. Pay attention to safety regulations, observing the correct use of PPE and crane operation mechanisms. Responsible for inspecting hooks, straps, straps and/or lifting accessories. Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments Travel required May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization's core values. Required Qualifications & Experience:
Hold relevant industry qualification – Minimum a CPCS card for crane operator Onshore - CPCS AP60 crane supervisor card/CPCS AP61 Appointed Person Lifting card/Stage 3 NVQ crane operations certificate (offshore only) (Desirable) Secondary/High School education or equivalent Tech/vocational cert in engineering or technology Minimum 6 months to 1 year crane operating and moving loads Recognized and approved Radio certificate and Bankman/slinger training - so he/she can understand the slinging and communication methods Desired Characteristics: Possess advanced skills and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization.
