The Opportunity: This role is based at our V&V Walsh facility, located in Bunbury, processing dual species of beef and lamb products. With around 600 employees, processing mostly Monday to Friday, this is a high-volume operation. This role will be reporting to the Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis, with support from the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager in the Support Services office.
As our Quality Technical Manager, you will provide technical expertise, leadership and guidance to the Quality team and business to ensure we meet compliance requirements and provide safe, premium products to our customers and consumers.
Your key responsibilities: Managing the Quality team, resourcing and staff rostering. Oversee and review the site Quality Management System to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and customer standards. Co-ordinating and managing major audits including but not limited to: BRC, AA, CFMSR, Woolworths Ensuring timely and sustainable completion of corrective actions arising from audits. Drive continuous improvement within the QMS by managing the Internal Audit and QA Verification program. Leading regular Management review meetings and external stakeholder meetings on quality performance. Building and strengthening relationships with external stakeholders, including customers and consumers. Preparing clear, concise and accurate quality reports and dashboards to communicate performance metrics and insights. Mentoring QA team members to improve understanding of Food Safety and Quality requirements fostering a positive Food Safety Culture. Co-ordinating development and training initiatives within the Quality team. Your essential skills and experience: Tertiary qualification in Food Science or relevant industry experience 10+ years. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Quality / Technical Manager in food manufacturing sector (ideally in meat processing). Excellent knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation and quality accreditation requirements (BRC, HACCP, WSE, CFMSR, AA, etc) Demonstrated experience managing external Audits and Corrective Action processes. Proven ability to manage inter-relationships across the company and external stakeholders including external regulators and other relevant industry associations and bodies. Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high level of computer literacy. The position requires you to be flexible and adaptable to the demands required by a shift operation.
