The Child Protection Counsellor is responsible for the provision of specialist therapeutic and case management services to children, young people and their carers who have experienced physical abuse, emotional abuse, domestic violence or neglect. CPCS also provides professional consultation and training, systems advocacy, community engagement, education, and prevention work to professionals and communities.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Minimum Requirements:Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline. Full AHPRA registration or a Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW. Allied Health Professionals will need minimum experience as a Level 2. Clinical Psychologist must hold a Masters degree or higher. Senior Psychologist must have completed no less than 12 months service at the 9th year of service as a Psychologist.Demonstrated extensive understanding of the dynamics of complex trauma and effects of physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and domestic violence and best practice models (provision of contemporary trauma informed practices) for working with children, young people and adults who have experienced abuse and/or trauma.This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
