Job duties : This is a supervisory role and a program liaison between the Office of Judicial Administration and stake holders within the Kansas court system to include the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and district courts. Work primarily revolves around managing and supporting centralized payment processing and advising on procedures, policies, technology, and legislation affecting this program. There is significant fiscal responsibility with this position.
Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the following processes: district court and appellate court receipts, deposits, and disbursements; reconciliation of legacy financials and bank accounts; overseeing financial policies and procedures and ensuring conformity with procedures relating to district and appellate courts; and troubleshooting financial issues for judicial branch employees statewide. Work includes performing specialized accounting tasks that follow established GAAP procedures. This position will work with the Director of Central Payments to develop and document accounting policies and procedures and oversee training district court employees in these practices.
Required education and experience : Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by coursework in business, public administration, or legal studies and at least three years of experience working with financials with the Kansas courts in a managerial capacity.
Preferred qualifications : Central Payment Center and supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
