The Major Loss Specialist Role
The Major Loss Specialist is responsible for managing high-value insurance claims from start to finish, ensuring compliance, efficient resolution, and exceptional customer service. This role involves analysing complex cases, collaborating with specialised teams, and implementing strategies to optimise claim outcomes.
Responsibilities Assess claims in line with best practices and relevant guidance, including the Claims Audit Charter. Minimize claim costs by ensuring accurate settlements and timely recovery referrals. Leverage preferred Cost Containment services to secure optimal savings on large unpaid US and Canadian bills. Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders within company guidelines. Manage high-cost and high-risk claims, demonstrating resilience. Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor your style depending on the audience. Qualifications Knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act and General Insurance Contracts Act as applicable to the role. Experience as an Insurance Claims Officer or Specialist (minimum 12 months preferred). Strong skills in complaint resolution, along with excellent written and verbal communication. Understanding of insurance processes and legislation, supported by a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively while working under pressure. Why Choose Us?
