The Court Support and Liaison Service was established due to the implementation of the Safe at Home program, providing guidance, information, support, assistance, and empowerment for adult and child victims of family violence.

DutiesAssist adults and child victims of crime by:explaining court processes and terminology used by Court personnel;describing physical orientation of court layouts;providing information about court systems;offering personal/emotional support throughout the Court process;discussing the impact of Magistrates/Judges decisions;providing a de-briefing service to victims following court appearances;referring to appropriate support services;assisting with the practical details of physically getting to Court;accompanying adult and child victims to court and police interviews;assisting in the preparation of age-appropriate policy and advertising material required for the Court Support and Liaison Services;operating as a member of the Safe at Home interdepartmental project team;providing relevant client information to associated programs and referral to appropriate support services;liaising with Divisional Managers and community-based organisations;providing high-level administrative support to the Victims Assistance Unit;holding a current Driver's Licence.Pre-employment ChecksThe Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.
