As part of our ongoing contract with the Department of Justice, Ventia have a rare opportunity for a qualified and experienced Court Security Manager to join the Kalgoorlie Courthouse team in WA.
This role is offered as a full-time permanent opportunity; however, because of the operational nature of courts, some flexibility around working hours is required at times.Reporting directly into the Assistant Director, this role will see you as a critical member of the Management team, where you will provide vital support and assistance in the delivery of an effective and efficient court operation and support the development of your team.In addition, you will ensure the correct deployment of staff across the region and be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Deputy Court Security Manager and Court & Custody Officers who fall under your management.Your duties will include but are not limited to:Liaise with Court Officials in the area to ensure contractual requirements are metEnsure suitable and sufficient resources are available in the Court and Custody areasInspect and monitor court operations to ensure complianceDeliver a high standard of service delivery whilst constantly maintaining staff and PiC (Persons in custody) welfare, safety & securityEnsure all warrants are checked in line with documented proceduresInspect and check Court premises to ensure the effectiveness and tidiness of security systemsMaintain emergency procedures and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilityMonitor the submission of incident reports within the timeframes requiredSet clear direction and objectives for direct reportsPositively contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassmentSkills and experience:Certificate III in Corrective Practice or related fieldControl and Restraint qualifiedSenior First Aid & CPR or equivalentDemonstrated ability to read and interpret correspondence, legislations, and regulations.High level of computer skills and report writingProven experience in a leadership roleA collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationshipsDemonstrated experience in an escort custody operational environmentHigh focus on safety and security awarenessPersonable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased, and balanced in challenging environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and correct languageMandatory Requirements:An Australian Permanent Resident or CitizenHave the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Police Check, Criminal History Check & Working with Children CheckUndergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol testManual Driving Licence - Desirable (HR, MR licence or F Extension category highly desirable for operating vehicles carrying passengers)Willingness to travel (road and air)Ability to maintain a reasonable level of fitness to undertake the inherent requirements of the roleWhat we offer:$5,943 extra Per Annum Regional AllowancePaid accommodation for 2 yearsAbout VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
