Primary Objective: Provide comprehensive, accurate, and timely administrative support to Registrars, Judges, and Court clients.
Context Statement: Court Officers perform various administrative tasks to facilitate court operations in criminal, civil, and other matters.
They must be adaptable to different Judges' practices and be willing to travel for bush circuit courts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure a professional and efficient approach to clerical and administrative duties as directed by the Registrar.Accurate processing of documents in accordance with relevant legislation and court rules, utilizing technology to prepare court orders and reports.Perform court procedures including opening and closing court, operating audio and video equipment, and maintaining order.Provide efficient front-line service to a diverse range of clients, ensuring timely and sound advice.Perform other administrative duties as directed by the Registrar, including front counter duties and balancing office/trust ledgers.Perform statutory duties of the Deputy Registrar, including signing documents as an ex officio Justice of the Peace.Selection Criteria: Essential: Experience in client and customer service with diverse backgrounds.Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills.Experience as a team member.Ability to undertake frequent travel for court duties.Ability to work unsupervised in a sensitive, high-volume environment.Proficiency in data entry using modern software applications.Desirable: Current Senior First Aid Certificate.Further Information: The successful applicant will undergo a criminal history check and must hold or be eligible for an Ochre Card.
