Type : Full-Time Term : Temporary Position Details College Counsellor/Social Worker – Full-time, Temporary St Mary's College is currently seeking a Counsellor, Social Worker or Mental Health Clinician to join the College wellbeing team.
This position plays an integral role in supporting the wellbeing of our students; including assessment and service planning; casework; counselling with students; liaising with parents and carers; liaising and referring to external service providers; group work; Behaviour support plans, attendance plans and social/emotional plans, in-class lessons/sessions; policy planning/support; administrative tasks including maintaining confidential data; and staff support as required.
This role supports in promoting and contributing to our strategic vision which guides the College in being a place where each student feels safe, valued, and connected and enabling each student to flourish.
This position is an important member of the wellbeing team to ensure the fidelity of the MTSS is adhered through a trauma informed positive behaviour support lens.
Selection Criteria •    Have highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills including an ability to work with a range of people •    Possess the ability to be a proactive and collaborative member of a team •    Demonstrated experience in an educational setting with Trauma Sensitive Multi-Tiered Systems of Support •    Be prepared to participate in co-curricular activities •    Model and maintain the Catholic ethos and traditions of the College •    Demonstrated skills and experience in working with individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties across the early years, primary and secondary school learning environments •    A warm, welcoming and friendly disposition •    Maintain a high standard of confidentiality •    Work independently with minimal direction •    Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, particularly in writing curriculum.
•    Use computer applications for administration and demonstrate a willingness to embrace new technologies •    Ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical rigour in assessment, intervention, case management and risk assessment and mitigation •    Demonstrated knowledge of mental health, trauma informed practices, multi-tiered systems of support and current wellbeing methodologies •    Counselling, Social Work or Mental Health Clinician qualification from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for membership of associated professional bodies Qualifications Required Relevant 4 Year Tertiary Qualifications.
