Counsellor / Social Worker / Mental Health Clinician (Wellbeing)St Mary's College Broome – Broome WAFull timeSchool Address: PO Box 100 Broome WA 6725Phone Number: 9194 9500Email Address: ****** Site: www.stmarysbroome.wa.edu.auType: Full-TimeTerm: TemporaryCollege Counsellor/Social Worker – Full-time, TemporarySt Mary's College is currently seeking a Counsellor, Social Worker or Mental Health Clinician to join the College wellbeing team.This position plays an integral role in supporting the wellbeing of our students, including assessment and service planning; casework; counselling with students; liaising with parents and carers; referring to external service providers; group work; Behaviour support plans; attendance plans; social/emotional plans; in-class lessons/sessions; policy planning/support; administrative tasks including maintaining confidential data; and staff support as required.This role supports and contributes to our strategic vision which guides the College in being a place where each student feels safe, valued, and connected, enabling each student to flourish. This position is an important member of the wellbeing team to ensure the fidelity of the MTSS is adhered to through a trauma-informed positive behaviour support lens.Selection CriteriaHighly developed organisational and interpersonal skills, including an ability to work with a range of peopleAbility to be a proactive and collaborative member of a teamDemonstrated experience in an educational setting with Trauma Sensitive Multi-Tiered Systems of SupportPrepared to participate in co-curricular activitiesModel and maintain the Catholic ethos and traditions of the CollegeDemonstrated skills and experience in working with individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties across early years, primary and secondary school learning environmentsA warm, welcoming and friendly dispositionMaintain a high standard of confidentialityWork independently with minimal directionEffective communication skills, both orally and in writing, particularly in writing curriculumAbility to use computer applications for administration and demonstrate a willingness to embrace new technologiesDemonstrated high standards of clinical rigour in assessment, intervention, case management, and risk assessment and mitigationKnowledge of mental health, trauma-informed practices, multi-tiered systems of support, and current wellbeing methodologiesCounselling, Social Work or Mental Health Clinician qualification from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for membership of associated professional bodiesQualifications RequiredRelevant 4 Year Tertiary QualificationsQualification and/or experience in education or related fieldKnowledge/experience in trauma-informed practices or completed BSEM trainingGatekeeper Training and experience in risk assessment and risk management planningMental Health First Aid CertificateCurrent Senior First AidCatholic Education Western Australia encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with a disability, people of all ages, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
