Desert Blue Connect is looking for an experienced Sexual Assault Counsellor to join the clinical services team.
This position is responsible for the provision of a broad range of therapeutic and support services for people who have experienced sexual assault.

The Role: The Sexual Assault Counsellor provides counselling and case management to survivors and their families affected by sexual abuse using a variety of therapeutic interventions and evidence based models.
ESSENTIAL Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling or Social work.Minimum of 5 years counselling experience and eligibility for membership to the relevant professional association.Minimum of 2 years counselling experience in sexual assault.Highly developed clinical practices, counselling and assessment skills with experience involving women, children and men who may have experienced trauma with multiple needs and issues and exhibit complex / difficult / challenging behaviours.High level interpersonal skills to engage with staff, clients, stakeholders and the broader community in order to develop effective partnerships and working relationships.Demonstrated ability to foster and lead positive change management within an organisation including experience in quality and compliance service delivery.Substantial experience or knowledge of managing government funded programs, and associated reporting & regulatory requirements including Equal Opportunity & Workplace Health and Safety.DESIRABLE Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and lead a multidisciplinary team, including the provision of clinical supervision and debriefing.Experience in developing and running therapeutic groups.Experience in working with people who have problems with alcohol and other drug use.Your Application:
