Are you a highly motivated, trauma informed Counsellor / Psychologist looking for a new and exciting position? Are you passionate about delivering person centred care and improving the well-being of those with mental health challenges?
The Sydney Clinic is seeking an experienced Counsellor / Psychologist to join our Mental Health Team on a casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive Allied Health team, working closely with our Registered Nurses ensuring a high level of patient care to inpatients and outpatients.

As a Counsellor / Psychologist your responsibilities will include: Demonstrates knowledge, skills, judgement and care in the effective delivery of therapy services utilising a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Strengths focussed Therapy for adults presenting with a range of psychiatric disorders including addictions.Providing individual and group based counselling services.Maximising the efficacy of clinical services through the development of productive and professional relationships with Psychiatrists, General Practitioners and other referral sources.Providing input into the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs ensuring that they are current and congruent with patient needs.Demonstrates awareness of admission and discharge criteria for therapeutic programs as directed by Health Funds and associated bodies and complies with the completion of relevant documentation.Minimum Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualificationsCurrent full registration with Counselling Governing Bodies / AHPRAExperience facilitating group therapy sessionsExperience facilitating 1:1 therapy sessionsExcellent interpersonal and writing skillsSound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skillsCommitment to professional development, ethical standards and self-reflective practiceDemonstrate a reliable, timely, organised and professional mannerAn ability to work within a multi-disciplinary teamHighly Desirable Criteria: Previous experience working in an Inpatient and / or Outpatient Mental Health serviceCompetent in the provision of a range of therapeutic modalities i.e. DBT, ACT, CBT with relevant training and certificationsExperience / qualifications in the treatment of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) use disordersCompetence in crisis management and delivery of crisis interventionsAvailability to work evenings and weekends if requiredWhy Healthscope?
