Services are delivered by Pinangba, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led arm of UnitingCare. Your part in our Blue Care teamThe core function of the Counsellor is to provide counselling/family therapy to individuals and families who are receiving residential AOD rehabilitation treatment, care and support. This position works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team at Pinangba and will be responsible for delivering counselling/family therapy services to a range of clients to holistically support recovery from AOD and associated mental health and SEWB issues within the services Family Therapy framework. Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrated experience in facilitating counselling with a Family Therapy focus and evidence based practice.Demonstrated experience in delivering holistic outcome focused interventions for families or individuals living with substance use and complex mental health issues.Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities and knowledge of culturally appropriate practice.Demonstrated experience in contributing to quality improvement practices. Minimum RequirementsRelevant tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Family Therapy or other related disciplines or ability to demonstrate a history of working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families within a related sector/discipline/position.Hold a Drivers Licence.Ability to satisfy the relevant Blue Care probity checks required by legislation or policies.Ability to acquire a Working with Children Blue Card.
