Are you passionate about supporting the well-being and safety of woman and children?Are you a professional Counsellor who has a heart to serve the community?Join our warm, friendly and supportive culture!About the role: Anglicare have a great opportunity for a Counsellor to join our Men's Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) and Post Separation Counselling Program (PSCP) based in Nowra. In this role you will be undertaking a range of Counselling and Group work services which aim to increase the well-being and safety of women and children and assist parents and children experiencing family separation.
This role is a Permanent Part-Time role (4 days a week).
Key Responsibilities (not limited to): Ensure the best possible outcome for clients is achieved by holding men accountable for their use of violence and supporting them to change their behaviour, establishing strong network links within local area in order to provide strong external referral pathwaysEnsure a professional and therapeutic counselling service is provided for children, adolescents and adults in the context of family separation through the exploration of relevant issues and the use of appropriate interventions.Ensure the services are well known in the community by participating in developing resources that promote and advertise the service to clients, local forums and other community organisationsEnsure individual needs of clients are met by providing a case plan that is developed with the client, is clearly defined and with achievable outcomesEnsure a full client caseload is maintained by working within funding guideline and program targetsEnsure documentation meets organisational, legislative and funding requirements by completing and maintaining appropriate client documentation and statistical informationAbout you: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or related behavioural sciencesNSW Drivers LicenceRegistered with appropriate body: e.g.: PACFA for counselling or working towards registrationGraduate Certificate in Men's Behavioural Change Interventions or willing to enrol and obtain the Certification. (Anglicare is willing to support the successful candidate during the process of obtaining the Certification)Training and clinical experience in working with perpetrators of domestic and family violence – preferred but not essential.Well-developed written and verbal communication skillsPrevious demonstrated experience in assessment and counsellingPrevious experience in group facilitationAs a Christian organisation with a heritage of service spanning 160 years, we exist to serve our community, enrich life and share the love of Jesus.
