Your part in our UnitingCare Community team Do you have a passion for working with families? Have you worked in counselling roles providing support to parents, children and young people whose families find themselves in vulnerable situations? Then we want to hear from you!
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Counsellor to join our Pathways to Grow Counselling Gold Coast team to provide an integrated counselling service that consists of individual and family counselling to parents, children and young people under 18 years, who find themselves in vulnerable situations and do not require statutory intervention.
In addition, this role will be responsible for delivering quality assessments, therapy and educational services to – parents, children and young people (0-18 years) and their families.
What makes a difference for us? Ideally you will have previous experience within a similar position where you have worked with families and children from diverse cultural backgrounds.
In addition you will:
be able to articulate knowledge of current practice and theories of working effectively with children, young people and their families,have demonstrated experience and knowledge in therapeutic and counselling skills, case management, family therapy and parenting skills that is applicable to children, young people and their families who find themselves in vulnerable situations. have experience and working knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Child Protection system and ability to link the family to universal support services and groups to build the capacity of the family to care for their children.Supplementing the above you will be tertiary Qualified within counselling, social work and/or psychology with applicable eligibility for membership to one of the following professional associations (Australian Counselling Association or PACFA Member Association, Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Psychological Society).
In addition, it is an inherent requirement of these roles that the individual appointed to be able to present at the time of appointment a current driver's license and "working with Children check" (Blue Card)".
