The Karlup Service will provide a range of offerings from the Ruah Centre for Women and Children (RCWC), a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility in Perth's CBD.The Karlup Service Children's Counselling Offering recognises that the health and wellbeing of children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence (FDV), either directly or as witnesses to the abuse of their mother or caregiver, is significantly impacted. Children and young people growing up in homes where there is FDV are more vulnerable to other forms of abuse such as neglect, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. They are also more likely to be perpetrators or victims of FDV in adulthood.As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Counsellor (Children) will create safety for the child or young person by building trust and providing a safe place to explore their experiences and express their emotions.
