Counsellor, Brief Intervention Family, Domestic & Sexual ViolenceFull time, maximum term opportunity (12 months)Enjoy flexible, life-friendly working conditionsDevelop your career providing a specialised counselling serviceReach further with us!Opportunity to join a passionate team of professionals who focus on providing person-centred counselling to children, young people, and adults who have been affected by domestic violence or sexual abuse.In this role, you'll provide professional brief intervention counselling to victim survivors that assists them to manage the emotional and psychological effects of experiencing family domestic and sexual violence. Working in an integrated service delivery model, you'll deliver a service that is person-centred, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally safe.This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) max term role for 12 months.About youTo be successful in this role you will have:Tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Counselling or other related disciplineExperience in working with individuals and families in a therapeutic setting, with an interest in addressing issues related to family and domestic violence and/or traumaUnderstanding of the issues relating to family and domestic violence and child abuse/neglectGreat interpersonal, rapport building, and communication skillsKnowledge and application of current theory and practice in relation to Brief Intervention CounsellingPerson-centred, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach to your practiceThe successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check, and a WA Drivers Licence.Sharing your knowledge, skills, and experience, you will make an impact on the lives of families and communities across the state.In return for your drive and commitment, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which places people at the heart of all the work we do and encourages broad thinking, curiosity, creativity, and best practice.Also:A competitive salary from $96,088 per annum + 11.5% superannuationSalary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expensesAdditional 3 days leave per year over the festive periodLife-balance friendly working conditionsAt Anglicare WA we are all about people, placing people at the heart of our work.
