The Vision underpins our exciting and robust Towards 2025 Strategy which places students at the centre of everything we do, and which brings schools and parishes together to work as one.The Towards 2025 Strategy commits our system of schools to being at least as good as the very best, to maximise the learning growth of every student, and to inspire hearts and minds to know Christ and love learning.Covering an expansive geographical area which includes the Central Coast, Sydney's Northern Beaches and North Shore, Catholic Schools Broken Bay is a system serving 45 Catholic Schools with around 17,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.About the RoleReporting to the Counselling & Wellbeing Lead, the Counselling Support Partner supports school leaders and the Counselling team to provide student wellbeing support, as part of the CSBB Wellbeing framework and practices. This role collaborates with and provides professional guidance, supervision and support to our Primary and Secondary School Counsellors.As a senior clinician, this role is responsible for ensuring that counsellors allocated to them meet the requirements of their professional counselling accreditation, including regulatory bodies such as the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency, the Australian Psychological Society, and/or the Australian Association of Social Work. This role is not required to work during school vacation periods.This role is a permanent, full-time position, based at our head office in Pennant Hills with the option to work from home 1 day a week.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical support for school counsellors, to ensure service provision to schools is appropriate and best practice models align to CSBB requirements and code of conduct, and professional standards of the Australian Psychological Society and Australian Association of Social Workers.Coordinate and guide the administration of psychometric mental health screeners and assessment.Monitor the quality of school counselling services within a culture of continuous improvement.Coordinate clinical supervision for school counsellors (K-12), including delivering supervision directly.Support and maintain CSBB's response protocols and policies, in relation to behaviour support, student wellbeing and significant mental health concerns such as Part 5a legislation, problematic sexualised behaviour, self-harm and suicidal ideation.Provide expert advice and recommendations for school leaders and counsellors about mental health issues and their impact on learning and student wellbeing.Ensure files and records of the school counselling service are managed in line with privacy and confidentiality requirements aligned to APS standards.About YouSupportive of, or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context.Has extensive experience offering expert level clinical advice, and responding to student mental health concerns with expert knowledge of diagnostic mental health disorders.Extensive experience as a mental health practitioner specialising in children and young people's mental health.Experience in the administration of cognitive, emotional, and behavioural assessments and mental health screeners.A track record of managing self to meet deadlines, deliver high quality work with emotional self-awareness and awareness of others.Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills & solutions-focused mindset.Is energised by working in a fast-paced environment & is adaptive and responsive to change and can work under pressure.Experience working within a school or system of schools environment, or facilitating therapeutic groups, or proactive and preventative programs (desirable though not essential).Has sound knowledge of relevant legislations e.g. NSW Educational Act (1990), current child protection etc.Has sound knowledge and skill in the Microsoft suite of products.QualificationsPostgraduate qualifications in Psychology or Social Work.Board-approved supervisor status or commitment to attaining supervisor status.Registered membership with an appropriate professional association i.e. APS (Australian Psychological Society) or AASW (Australian Association of Social Work).Valid Working with Children Check.Current and valid NSW Driver's Licence (and own car required).Benefits of Working with UsCompetitive salary on offer (circa $151K including super).Free onsite parking or public transport close by.25% School Fee Discount for eligible employees.Annual leave loading and ex-gratia leave at Christmas time.Salary Packaging for eligible employees.Application ProcessApplications should include:A cover letter of no more than two pages addressing why you are interested in the role and addressing the criteria listed above.Agencies, please note that unsolicited resumes for this position will not be considered.Catholic Schools Broken Bay promotes a culture of safety and care for children and young people.
