About the Team: Over the last 10 years in APAC, we have seen an evolution of legal and regulatory challenges. From being a start-up bringing our service into new countries and cities, we're now focused on working closely with regulators and partnering with them to build a stronger and more sustainable ecosystem for Uber. About the Role: The APAC Product & Commercial Legal team oversees all product related work in the APAC as well as offering key leadership on APAC-wide commercial deals and strategic projects. We are looking for an ambitious and talented product legal counsel to support the APAC Mobility and Delivery businesses. You will be working with the brightest product managers, engineers and business stakeholders to create and maintain the best product experience for users, whilst effectively mitigating risk. This position can be based in the Sydney office and will report to the Senior Counsel, Product & Commercial, APAC.
Your impact in role: Legal review of new products and features across APAC - provide commercial and creative counsel to your stakeholdersProject manage complex assignments - act as a liaison between cross functional teams and become a champion for product/projectsApply current laws and regulations applicable to Uber's product context and apply them to present decisive solutions to the businessInternational impact - work on multiple projects with stakeholders across business lines, countries and teamsThe experience you'll bring: Relevant post qualification experience in-house or top law firm (ideally 6+ years, and preferably in-house experience)Ideally, prior product counseling experience in the tech industry, or familiarity with wide range of practice areas, particularly consumer law and technology, media and techExperience working with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment - ability to work on multiple assessments on your own, make quick decisions to close out issues efficientlyClear communicator and commercially minded - demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus at an executive levelWe welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently.
