We are currently seeking a highly passionate and enthusiastic Science Communicator who will help achieve Scitech's purpose by inspiring audiences through the delivery of exciting, engaging and relevant science experiences.
In this role you will:
Deliver quality STEM programs to the general public, groups, teachers, and students such as science shows, puppet presentations, and STEM workshops. Deliver exceptional customer service to all customers and stakeholders, making a positive impression on teachers, students, and others by being approachable and building rapport with a positive attitude. Carry out daily operational procedures to ensure the efficient running of programs, including cleaning and maintenance as required. Complete day-to-day program administration tasks including confirmation calls, job sheets, and invoice creation requests. Liaise with educators and external customers to ensure audience-targeted delivery of programs. This role is also expected to be rostered and worked across seven days, as well as travel across WA over weekends and for periods up to three weeks in duration. Please note the Science Communicator is required to work a minimum of three tours per year. Tours typically run for up to a three-week continuous period in a regional or remote location.

We are seeking an individual on a full-time basis, who can deliver programs that meet the expectations of the audience and has the ability to build positive working relationships with customers, teachers, students, and their colleagues.
Other skills and experience required include:
Demonstrated public presentation skills and experience presenting to a range of audiences. Engage in informal science conversations with the general public. Experience working with children, ideally in a teaching or coaching role. Demonstrated communication skills including effective written, verbal, negotiation, and presentation skills. Working with children check or ability to obtain one National Police Check or ability to obtain one. Science or Education related tertiary qualification (desirable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
