About the role: As part of the Fortescue Marsh Biodiversity Project, the Project Officer (Entomology) will be responsible for the organisation and logistics of registering and digitising terrestrial invertebrate specimens from the Pilbara Biodiversity Survey Collection held in the Entomology Department at the WA Museum's Collection and Research Centre in Welshpool.
About you: We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who has a passion for terrestrial invertebrates, enjoys working in a team environment and working to deadlines, and wants to make a difference.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
Work closely with the Curator of Entomology in prioritising, organising, and co-ordinating the processing of terrestrial invertebrate trap material, and identifying specimens to the lowest possible taxonomic level. Digitise and register specimens in the Museum's collections management system, EMu. Provide technical advice to visiting discipline experts working on the Fortescue Marsh Biodiversity project.
