Our opportunity

We have a rare opportunity for a Cost Planner to join our team, based in Preston, Sydney. You will provide construction cost plans and construction risk advice for development projects from project conception to commencement on site and beyond.

We have a strong pipeline of work in the Master Planned Community space in Sydney. This role will initially be dedicated to our Georges Cove project. 

Your responsibilities are but are not limited to:
Assist in interpreting project briefs and new business expression of interests. Prepare construction cost plans during initial phases of project development. Cost plans will vary from an area feasibility to a detailed elemental cost plan with varying levels of trade coverage.Design development and cost optimisation. Advise on construction risk during initial phases of project development.Assistance with setting guidelines/briefs for cost plans.Finalisation of cost plan to a BOQ.Attend design meetings and provide cost advice.Set up trade budgets.Assist the Project Manager and Commercial Manager in subcontractor and consultant management.Assist the Project Manager and Commercial Manager in matching the subcontractor scopes of work to the project budgets.Monitor construction price fluctuations.Your point of difference

To be successful you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in a building construction/quantity surveying/building economics discipline and extensive construction/property development experience.

You will have at least 3+ years' experience in residential cost planning; prior experience in master planned communities will be highly regarded. 

Finally, you will have a sound understanding of the front end development process & development feasibilities, excellent communication & analytical skills and be able to manage and work effectively in a team.
