Building & Construction Estimating Melbourne Contract or Temp Salary up to $170,000 + Super.
Contract with a view to go permanent - Growth opportunities.
Working on large-scale technical projects in the busiest sector.
Ideally coming with data centre (preferred) or infrastructure experience you will hit the ground running on an initial 6-month FTC (with a view to go permanent).
The experienced Cost Manager will join their APAC team and work closely with the Senior Cost Manager and the Development team to shape the future of our hyper-scale data centre projects.
This role is essential to achieving their construction cost and quality targets and ensuring seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of construction estimates and budgets, aligning them with critical business objectives.
Work with Engineering, Technology, and Procurement teams to develop and execute detailed cost plans, while effectively communicating budget constraints and cost impacts to the project team.
Identify and address risks within the cost estimation process, providing sustainable solutions and identifying trends through metrics data.
Maintain construction budgets, ensuring accuracy and accountability, and providing explanations and insights into cost structures.
Develop standard cost/estimate guidelines, manage cost-related documentation, and assist with analytics to support project benchmarking and continuous improvement.
Assess the implications of construction changes on budgets, explore multiple approaches to minimise negative impacts, and report on cost impacts to senior management.
What They're Looking For: Proven track record in cost estimation and planning for large-scale construction, ideally in data centre environments.
Solid understanding of construction methodologies, with intermediate knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems.
Strong ability to analyse construction costs at a regional level and present clear, data-driven insights to leadership.
Excellent troubleshooting abilities, with an autonomous and flexible approach to handling complex challenges.
Confident communicator capable of interacting with professionals at all levels, with persuasive skills to drive results.
Motivated by change, forward-thinking, and prepared to adjust strategies to meet evolving business needs.
